Getting started with Replit
- Start a new chat from your Replit home and select Website from the New menu or via Add attachment → Create something new → Website.
- Open the mode selector below the prompt box and choose Free.
- Send a prompt that describes one useful outcome, observable success criteria, and boundaries for what not to build yet.
- Follow the progress in chat and wait until Agent presents a Website artifact and Preview is running.
- Test the result in Preview by using the app like a visitor to check features against your success criteria.
- Ask for one clear improvement at a time in the chat once the core experience works.
Tips
- Describe the symptom to Agent instead of trying to diagnose the code yourself if something in Preview is broken.
- Keep going in the same chat when you have a useful result so Replit builds on the context you already shared.
- Add files, images, or connect supported tools to give Replit useful context that grounds your request.
